Press release, 15th of April 2021
In 2020, Infomedia strengthened its Nordic position and realized a turnover of DKK 204,8 million compared to DKK 171,8 million in 2019. The growth is due to new activities in Norway and Sweden as well as growth in web crawling activities in Opoint Technology. The operating profit amounts to DKK 22,8 million in 2020 compared to DKK 18,3 million in 2019. The result can be attributed to continued work with digitization and implementation of efficiency measures.
“COVID-19 has quite naturally affected market and development activities through the majority of 2020. The Danish parent company was most affected and realized a turnover of DKK 128,5 million in 2020, compared to DKK 137,5 million in 2019. The decline was due to selected customer groups, who were particularly affected by COVID-19 combined with increased price competition. However, the operating profit overall increased to DKK 16,4 million up from 2020 from DKK 11,8 million in 2019, which is satisfactory” says CEO Thomas Vejlemand.
As a result of COVID-19, marketing and sales activities were restructured and a new digital brand and marketing platform was launched. New digital collaboration tools have supported Nordic consolidation following acquisitions in Sweden, Norway and Estonia at the end of 2019. A new product and technology platform has been designed and developed. The first version has been launched in Norway and Sweden, while Danish customers will be added this summer. The company opened a new Aarhus office in the spring of 2020.
“Many of our managers and employees across the Nordic region have never met each other in person because of COVID-19 and lockdowns. They have only met each other through digital communication and from home offices. We have nevertheless succeeded in integrating five companies and creating a team spirit focused on common goals and strategies. Our growth plans had to be adjusted, but we have maintained a close digital dialogue with our customers and partners. At the same time, we have managed to develop a new strong product portfolio and new analysis concepts that strengthen us in the Nordic region and internationally. We see the result of this with a strong start to 2021 with increased customer acquisitions,” concludes CEO Thomas Vejlemand.
The ambition is to make Infomedia the preferred software solution partner within media monitoring in the Nordic region and internationally with a focus on commercial and strategic media analysis and communication insights.
